This guide is well written for people like me who need some help understanding the ins and outs of Server 2012. I was very impressed with the was the index is laid out in such a way that I have been able to easily find any information I need. I bought this book to go along with a class I was taking as the class book was bad, very bad. I can truly say that this book has really helped me understand a lot about server and helped me get prepared to take the 2012 cert.
The book is good, for a manual. I just wish SAMS had 2012R2 book as things are a bit different in R2. Over all though it is a good book. Shiper gets an A++ shipped fast and as described!
This was a GREAT reference for setting up servers and transitioning from Server 2008 R2 to Server 2012. There are so many tips tricks and just plain good instructional information in this and other books in the series that they become a must for any I/T person working on live systems whether in a large organization or a single person I/T department with one to many servers. I used this for a school running 5 servers, 12 smart switches 14 A/P's and over 190 computers for Administration, teachers and students. Even though I'm no-longer at the school, I still refer to this book for technical questions that arise. An invaluable resource!
Good book on 2012. Get it!
Haven't read it much, but was highly recommended. What I've read I really like. Trust the remainder is 5 stars based on opinion I trust.
You must take the time to read and sometimes re-read in order to fully understand this book. This book seems to be geared towards people who already have experience working with servers, it's definitely not for beginners.
Gr8 practical Book of reference!
It's a decent book...covers most Windows Server topics at a basic level. I am disappointed in the level of detail - this seems to be an introductory level book. If you are new to Windows Server, this is a great book. Otherwise, don't bother.
